How Military Experience and Community Shape CSA’s Culture
At Client Solution Architects (CSA), culture is not just defined by what we do—but by how we show up for one another and the communities we serve. That belief is brought to life through leaders who lead with lived experience, empathy, and purpose. For CSA Military Engagement & Growth Leader Heather Kline, that perspective is shaped by a career, and a life, deeply rooted in military service.
Heather brings a uniquely dual view to CSA, forged through 22 years of service in the United States Navy and 19 years as a military spouse of the United States Army. Over that time, she navigated 14 permanent change of station (PCS) moves and endured nearly five cumulative years of separation due to deployments. While those transitions are familiar to many military families, what has defined Heather’s journey most is the community built along the way and connections strengthened through constant change.
That lived experience is an example that directly informs how CSA approaches military engagement, growth, and culture.
Community as a Constant in a Life of Change
Military life demands adaptability, resilience, and an unwavering sense of commitment, but it also underscores the importance of continuity, access, and belonging. Frequent relocations can disrupt careers, family stability, and professional identity, especially for military spouses. These realities are not abstract to Heather; they are personal.
At CSA, those realities shape how engagement strategies are designed. The focus is not only on mission execution, but on the people who enable that mission. By centering solutions around flexibility and scalability, CSA aims to support both operational needs and the lived experiences of military-connected professionals.
“I understand this lifestyle firsthand,” Heather often shares. “I get you. I see you.” For her, military engagement is not just a career path—it’s personal. She describes her journey as belonging to both a family she was born into and a family she was sworn into, and that sense of responsibility fuels her commitment to serving as a trusted conduit between the military community and CSA.
Showing Up for the Military Community
CSA’s military engagement is intentionally woven across talent strategy, partnerships, and mission support. Through efforts like the Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP), CSA works to create flexible employment opportunities that align with the realities of a mobile workforce. Partnerships with Transition Assistance Programs (TAP) and Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs) ensure ongoing connection to the evolving needs of service members, veterans, and their families. CSA also partners with Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic® Operation Dream Maker raising funds through internal campaigns to grant life-changing wishes and give hope and joy to the children of our nation’s heroes.
These relationships are more than affiliations. They represent CSA’s active presence and collaboration within the military ecosystem and allow CSA to stay connected to real-world challenges and opportunities.
Building Belonging From Within CSA
Internally, CSA continues to strengthen a culture where military-connected employees feel supported, visible, and valued. Through mentorship, community engagement, and advocacy, the company fosters an environment of inclusion that recognizes the unique experiences veterans and military spouses bring to the workforce.
Efforts are underway to introduce CSA’s Military Community Employee Resource Group, along with the launch of the company’s SkillBridge program, which will create additional pathways for connection, professional growth, and transition support. These initiatives reflect CSA’s belief that a mission-ready workforce is built on opportunity, belonging, and trust.
A Culture Rooted in Resilience and Adaptability
Resilience and adaptability are hallmarks of military spouse life, and they are equally central to CSA’s approach to growth and problem-solving. Engagement strategies and solutions are designed to remain agile, responsive, and mission-focused, ensuring CSA can meet change head-on alongside its people.
As part of a growth team led by a fellow military spouse, Heather Kline sees these values reflected daily in CSA’s leadership and culture. Her passion for advocating on behalf of CSA’s capabilities, careers, and community comes from a genuine belief in the company’s vision and mission.
Staying Connected, Staying Responsive
CSA remains responsive to the needs of today’s military-connected workforce by staying deeply embedded in the community—not as observers, but as participants. Through continuous engagement with military spouses, veterans, advocates, and partner organizations, CSA gains real-time insights into challenges such as employment continuity, geographic constraints, complexities of military family life, and the impacts associated with global conflicts.
That connection is reinforced by CSA employees who work daily alongside military customers in their local communities. Their proximity provides firsthand understanding of their lived experiences and ensures CSA’s solutions remain grounded, compassionate, and purposeful.
Culture in Action
Heather’s leadership, underscored by CSA’s broader leadership team, reflects the organization’s core strength: delivering mission-critical outcomes through a combination of advanced services and product-enabled solutions, brought to life by a workforce of talented professionals, including veterans and military spouses, who understand the mission firsthand.
Through advocacy, partnership, mentorship, and a shared sense of purpose, CSA continues to build a culture rooted in service and connection. As Heather shares during Military Appreciation Month and every month, we’re in this together. No other way.
