Client Solution Architects (CSA) is currently seeking a Technical Writer to support a program out of our San Diego, CA location. This position does have the option for remote work, but will need to be local to the San Diego area.

Working from operations centers and shipyards to training sites and program offices, CSA deploys experienced teams, innovative tools and proven processes to advance federal missions.

How Role will make an impact:

  • Producing and maintaining materials such as System Technical Manuals, Quick Reference Guides (QRGs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Software Delivery Documents (SWDs), User Logistics Support Summaries (ULSSs), and other assigned technical documentation.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain clear and accurate technical documentation
  • Detailed user manuals for fleet systems and equipment, covering system descriptions, operational procedures, Remove and Replace (R&R) instructions, troubleshooting guidance, and parts information
  • Quick Reference Guides (QRGs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) supporting both fleet and depot-level operations
  • Software-related operational procedures and documentation
  • Collaborate with engineers, software developers, logisticians, supply support personnel, and technical leadership to understand complex systems and convert technical information into clear, user-focused documentation.
  • Review technical materials to verify accuracy, clarity, and completeness, incorporating feedback from technical staff and users to enhance documentation quality over time.
  • Perform detailed editing and proofreading to maintain consistency, technical accuracy, and professional quality across all documentation.
  • Develop and manage Technical Manual records within the Model Based Product Support (MBPS) system.
  • Implement structured documentation standards and processes to ensure materials remain consistent, organized, and current, while continuously improving documentation practices.
  • Provide documentation support to customers and internal teams related to system deployment, troubleshooting, and best practices.

What you’ll need to have to join our award-winning team:

  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's level degree in any business, managerial, or technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience as a technical writer in an engineering or technical field.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, concepts, and terminology.
  • Experience writing for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and user-friendly technical documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Sit for extended periods of time and work at a computer workstation
  • Use hands and fingers to operate keyboards, mice, and other input devices
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust
  • Stand, walk, bend, or reach; Access equipment located in data centers, offices, or under desks
  • Lift and/or move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
