System Administrator, Jr
Client Solution Architects (CSA) is currently seeking a Junior System Administrator to support a program onsite at Pearl Harbor, HI.
For nearly 50 years, CSA has delivered integrated technology and operational support services to meet the defense and federal sector's most complex enterprise needs. CSA is seeking a Junior System Administrator at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard (PHNSY) & Intermediate Maintenance Facility (IMF) at Joint Base Pearl Harbor - Hickam, Hawaii. Perform system administration operations on all SYLAN and SECNET Windows server systems, located in Pearl Harbor and Guam, to maintain a functional and secure operating environment for each network in compliance with Government policies and regulations. The successful candidate will perform routine system administration and monitoring activities, troubleshoot system issues, implement security and software updates, maintain system documentation, and support compliance with government policies, regulations, and cybersecurity requirements.
How Your Role Will Make an Impact:
- Maintain service levels of system availability and uptime as defined in the Performance Standards. A system outage does not equal an adequate service level
- Maintain availability, confidentiality, and integrity of server systems
- Manage systems resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability
- Troubleshoot and repair system outages to maintain applicable Service Levels
- Communicate status of outages to PHNSY&IMF (e.g., system-down notifications, status reports on expected restoration, system-up notifications)
- Perform daily checks for servers per established DoN, NAVSEA, Shipyard and local SOPs/desk guides
- Develop, generate, maintain, and contribute to documentation (e.g., procedures, instructions) that pertain to and are applicable to managed systems
- Maintain compliant, secure systems for each network through the availability, confidentiality, and integrity of server systems. Meet all cybersecurity deadlines for compliance, which includes the tasks below
- Protect Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPI) and other Confidential Data as stated in OPNAV Instruction N9210.3 series
- Vulnerability Management (e.g. patches, security technical implementation guidelines (STIGs), monitor and evaluate ACAS reports, TASKORDS)
- Maintain server compliance to PHNSY&IMF, and higher level, configuration requirements
What You Will Need to Join Our Award-Winning Team:
- Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
- Education: Must posses a high school diploma
- Certification: CompTIA Security+ certification required, or willingness to obtain Security+ within the first year of employment
- 0–2 years of experience with system administration or related IT operations to include: Windows Server administration, System performance monitoring and tuning, User and account management, Cybersecurity and system security practices, Backup and recovery, Troubleshooting hardware/software/operating system/network issues, Software updates, security patches, and configuration management, Basic automation and scripting, Technical documentation and standard operating procedures.

- Experience using ServiceNow or another IT service management/ticketing system
- Active Directory account management
- PowerShell or other scripting/automation experience
- Server monitoring and performance analysis
- Backup and recovery technologies
- Vulnerability management and remediation
- STIG implementation and compliance
- Security patch management
- ServiceNow or similar IT service management platforms
- Experience working in a government, DoD, or regulated IT environment
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
- Sit for extended periods of time and work at a computer workstation
- Use hands and fingers to operate keyboards, mice, and other input devices
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust
- Stand, walk, bend, or reach; Access equipment located in data centers, offices, or under desks
- Lift and/or move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds

The annual base salary range for this position is $89,000 to $157,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. CSA considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's location, skills, experience and qualifications.
