Sharepoint Administrator
Client Solution Architects (CSA) is currently seeking a SharePoint Administrator to support a program at Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, V.A.
For nearly 50 years, CSA has delivered integrated technology and operational support services to meet the defense and federal sector's most complex enterprise needs. Working from operations centers and shipyards to training sites and program offices, CSA deploys experienced teams, innovative tools and proven processes to advance federal missions.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
How Role will make an impact:
SharePoint Server Administration
- Configure, manage, and maintain SharePoint Server (2016/2019) environments, including:
- Web applications, site collections, content databases, and service applications.
- Manage user permissions, Active Directory group integration, and SharePoint security policies.
- Implement and maintain governance policies, backup and recovery plans, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Administer and optimize Central Administration, Search Service Application, User Profile Service, and Managed Metadata Services.
- Support and manage migrations between SharePoint On-Premises and SharePoint Online using tools such as SharePoint Migration Tool (SPMT), ShareGate, or Metalogix.
System Maintenance & Monitoring
- Perform routine system health checks, apply patches, Cumulative Updates (CUs), and Service Packs (SPs) to maintain system stability.
- Monitor system performance, analyze logs, and respond to system alerts or issues affecting SharePoint availability or performance.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to manage Windows Server, IIS, and SQL Server configurations related to SharePoint.
Troubleshooting and Support
- Investigate and resolve SharePoint errors, performance bottlenecks, and service disruptions.
- Provide tier 2/3 support to end users and site owners for SharePoint issues.
- Maintain documentation of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Deployment & Configuration
- Deploy and configure custom or third-party SharePoint solutions, features, and web parts.
- Support solution lifecycle management (test, production) in coordination with developers and business units.
- Assist with migrations or upgrades between SharePoint versions or from older to newer environments.
What you’ll need to have to join our award-winning team:
- Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active Secret Clearance
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering) OR Level II Certification (e.g., Security+ or better) AND four (4) years of relevant experience as described above.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in SharePoint Server administration.
- At least three (3) years of specialized experience managing, configuring, and supporting SharePoint On-Premises environments.
