We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of Marketing and Communications who will report to the CGO. This role will be responsible for leading and supporting various marketing initiatives and campaigns, including the Make-A-Wish Operation Dream Maker campaign, open enrollment communications, and corporate capabilities thought leadership campaigns. 


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing strategy, campaign management, and communications. You will be required to think strategically, execute tactics, and build internal communication programs for a variety of internal stakeholders. You must be a strong writer who is articulate, collaborative, innovative, adaptable, and passionate about driving culture, alignment, and engagement. 


This position will be in a Hybrid Capacity from our Herndon Office. 


How Role will make an impact:


Campaign Management

  • Lead and support the Make-A-Wish Operation Dream Maker campaign.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies for various initiatives.
  • Manage end-to-end campaign execution, including planning, budgeting, and performance tracking.

Corporate Capabilities and Thought Leadership:

  • Develop and execute thought leadership campaigns in conjunction with conference panels and other events.
  • Create and manage content that showcases the company’s expertise and capabilities.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and leverage speaking opportunities.
  • Coordinate the internal communication that occurs within the company.
  • Devise, design, and edit communication for items such as memos, emails, fundraisers, contests, brochures, newsletters, and other internal publications.
  • Write, copyedit, proofread, and revise communication content as necessary.
  • Support organizational communication, announcements, and events, including town halls and other virtual employee-wide events.
  • Incorporate industry best practices, and develop metrics, data, and insights to help drive internal communication programs and activities; report out on communication channel metrics and where improvements are needed.
  • Translate complicated processes into simple language to deliver engaging, easy-to-read communications materials.
  • Conceive, create, adapt, and manage a variety of coordinated communications vehicles, channels, and tools; assess existing vehicles and tools and develop new ones, as needed.

Content Creation and Management:

  • Oversee the creation of high-quality marketing materials, including brochures, presentations, and digital content.
  • Manage CSA’s intranet site to keep content current and relevant, and develop ways to increase engagement and readership.
  • Proactively seeks out compelling stories and reporting opportunities to help employees connect the dots between their day-to-day work and company strategies.
  • Support external communications efforts to include social media and PR by drafting social media posts according to established calendar and drafting press releases, bylined articles, and thought leadership pieces as assigned.
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines and messaging.
  • Manage the company’s website and social media channels to enhance online presence.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Partner with key stakeholder groups across different functional areas (e.g., C-suite, HR, IT, growth, finance, etc.) to ensure communications are compelling and aligned to company messaging, goals, and audiences.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and media outlets.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on campaign performance and marketing initiatives.

Press and Media Management:

  • Draft, vet, publish, and send press releases (follow tiering system)
  • Assist in key initiative communication planning and internal change management efforts.
  • Manage benefits and relationships to WashingtonExec, Executive Mosaic, City Biz, NVTC and PSC, ensuring the company is leveraging all associated benefits
  • Mange sponsorships and conferences

 What you’ll need to have to join our award-winning team:

  • BA/BS in marketing, communication, journalism, or related discipline 
  • 5+ years of cumulative experience in marketing and communications, with a proven track record of successful campaign management
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, creative, and collaborative
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency in researching and applying best practices, processes and methodologies used by best-in-class organizations
  • Familiarity with various style guides, specifically AP and Chicago Manual of Style
  • Strong writing, editing, and project management skills are essential
  • Proven ability to think broadly and strategically, connecting communications messaging to company objectives
  • A self-starter with proven ability to take a project from idea to implementation

  • Experience in the federal marketing space
