Client Solution Architects (CSA) is currently seeking a Digital Solution Strategist and Technical Writing Lead, this position can be done in a remote capacity. 


For nearly 50 years, CSA has delivered integrated technology and operational support services to meet the defense and federal sector's most complex enterprise needs. Working from operations centers and shipyards to training sites and program offices, CSA deploys experienced teams, innovative tools and proven processes to advance federal missions.  



How your Role will make an impact:

  • Design innovative, win-focused technical solutions for proposal responses to DoD solicitations (RFPs, RFIs, BAAs, OTAs)
  • Develop compelling technical approaches that differentiate our solutions from competitors
  • Create architecture diagrams, system designs, concept of operations (CONOPS), and technical solution graphics for proposals
  • Analyze solicitation requirements and develop compliant, cost-effective technical solutions
  • Collaborate with capture managers, program managers, and business development teams to shape opportunities
  • Support customer engagements and technical discussions during capture activities
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and innovation opportunities for proposal differentiation
  • Develop technical discriminators and value propositions for competitive pursuits
  • Conduct competitive analysis and assess competitor technical approaches
  • Support orals preparation and technical presentations to government customers
  • Provide technical solutioning for teaming agreements and subcontractor negotiations
  • Participate in gate reviews and proposal color team reviews (pink, red, gold)
  • Write persuasive, compliant technical volumes for proposal submissions
  • Develop executive summaries, management approaches, and past performance narratives
  • Create clear, compelling content that addresses evaluation criteria and win themes
  • Create technical approaches alongside technical SMEs and capture managers to craft win themes and strategic narratives, and describe methodologies to include technical/management approaches, communication, and risk management and mitigation
  • Develop capability statements, white papers, and technical marketing materials
  • Produce compliant responses to technical requirements (L, M, C matrices)
  • Ensure proposal content aligns with win strategy, themes, and discriminators
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to extract and articulate technical content
  • Edit and refine proposal sections for clarity, compliance, and persuasiveness
  • Manage proposal content in collaboration tools 
  • Develop past performance case studies and project descriptions
  • Support responses to RFIs, sources sought notices, and pre-solicitation activities
  • Create compelling graphics, tables, and visual elements to enhance readability
  • Ensure compliance with page limits, formatting requirements, and solicitation instructions

What you will need to have to join our award-winning team:

  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree 
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in solution architecture, systems engineering, or related technical roles
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in proposal writing for DoD or Federal government contracts 
  • Proven track record of successful proposal wins (provide win rate if possible)
  • Experience with the full proposal lifecycle from RFP release through submission
  • Understanding of Federal acquisition processes (FAR/DFARS) and contract vehicles
  • Strong understanding of DoD enterprise IT systems, cloud architectures, DevSecOps, cloud migration, data analytics, AI/ML solutions, and emerging technologies
  • Experience designing solutions for various contract types (IDIQ, GWAC, single award)
  • Proficiency with architecture and diagramming tools 
  • Knowledge of DoD mission areas (C4ISR, cyber, logistics, training, enterprise IT, etc.)
  • Understanding of government evaluation criteria and source selection processes
  • Experience with multiple DoD customers (Army, Navy, Air Force, etc.)
  • Expert-level persuasive and technical writing skills
  • Proven ability to write compliant, compelling proposal content under tight deadlines
  • Experience managing color team reviews and incorporating feedback
  • Proficiency with proposal tools (MS Office Suite, Adobe InDesign, collaboration platforms)
  • Strong understanding of win strategies, themes, discriminators, and ghost/counter strategies
  • Ability to translate technical concepts for both technical and non-technical evaluators
  • Experience with compliance matrices and requirements management
  • Knowledge of proposal best practices (Shipley, APMP standards)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet aggressive proposal deadlines
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams (capture, pricing, contracts, technical SMEs)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and quality focus
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and last-minute proposal shifts
  • Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple pursuits simultaneously



What Sets you apart:

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility 
  • One or more of the following certifications preferred:

                 APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals) certification

                 Shipley Associates proposal training

                 TOGAF or other enterprise architecture certification

                 AWS/Azure/GCC Solution Architect certification
