CSA Awarded SPAWAR Contract
August 11, 2009 – San Diego, CA — The United States Navy, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command in San Diego CA has awarded CSA a contract to provide project monitoring and control services to SPAWAR 6.0. This contract expands on the PMC services CSA has been providing to SPAWAR for the past 5½ years on complex DoD acquisition programs including submarine communications systems.
The contract has a base year and four option year period. CSA will provide project management and control services in support of the development of a SPAWAR enterprise-wide schedule model that meets the requirements of the Capability Maturity Model Integration for Acquisition 1.2. CSA will assist SPAWAR 6.0 in an enterprise-wide adoption of an Standard Integrated Master Schedule. The S-IMS is designed to improve the accuracy, collection and reporting of cost and schedule information for SPAWAR acquisition programs. CSA will continue to use Primavera as the software application for the S-IMS implementation.
Stacy Fawcett, Project Leader for the SPAWAR PMC contract and CSA PMC Service Offering Manager stated "This award reinforces CSA’s unique ability to understand processes and translate them into automated templates that enable program and project success. Supporting the 6.0 Acquisition and Program Management Competency will provide CSA the opportunity to assist in the development of ERP’s PS Module’s IMS Architecture in addition to assisting CSA’s PMC department in emphasizing the importance of integrity-based integrated master schedules, enabling increased cost, schedule and performance management and metrics for the Navy’s weapons systems." The work will be performed in San Diego CA.
This win demonstrates how great service delivery leads to expanded business. SPAWAR has a high quality and productive relationship with our PMC services group going back many years. Together CSA and SPAWAR 6.0 have made a difference in SPAWAR acquisition. In a time when defense program costs are spiraling out of control, CSA can continue to show how our PMC services are helping to solve those problems and help DOD program managers design and field their systems on time, on budget and meeting War Fighter needs.
