CSA Awarded Subcontract to Assist in the Deployment of a Real Time Location System (RTLS) for one of the Largest Healthcare Systems in the US

October 13, 2011 – Mechanicsburg, PA — Client Solution Architects, LLC announced today the award of a subcontract to assist in the planning and deployment of a Real Time Location System (RTLS) solution for one of the largest healthcare systems in the US. The RTLS solution will enable the medical and support staff throughout the medical centers to track and locate the critical equipment that they use on a consistent basis to provide patient care. The technology leverages the deployment of radio frequency identification (RFID) tags on the physical items and utilizes the existing facilities wireless network. The use of RFID tags in this healthcare operational setting is expected to reduce cost by increasing the utilization rate of each piece of equipment, improve operational efficiency by reducing the time spent searching for the much-needed equipment and increase patient care by ensuring that these highly mobile and critical pieces of equipment are available when and where required.

The subcontract will be managed out of the CSA Eastern Region but the work will take the CSA team to various medical centers in the central United States. CSA will be providing our Portfolio Project Management (PPM) services to the prime contractor on this contract. In this role CSA will be responsible for assisting in the development and on-going management and analysis of the project’s Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). CSA will also deploy site managers to the medical centers in order to oversee the implementation, manage the site schedule, coordinate requirements and communicate project status to the prime contractor.

The contract began on October 3, 2011 and the team is underway in assisting in the development of the IMS. CSA site managers will be deployed in December to support the first major installation. The contract is expected to run approximately 18 months.
